My daughter works for a vet and her Westie was having this problem ... and humping his toy had nothing to do with it! I can't recall if it was before or after he was neutered. Her boss told her to take a cup of warm water, add a couple tablespoons sugar, stir it up and pour it over his little hoo-hoo. It worked!!!!
Not having experience with a little boy, you can imagine how mortified I was at 6AM when Jackson & Nonnie had their first walk of the morning! I will just say, those who didn't normally get up until 7 was definitely up at 6AM!!!
