I clean mine once a week and change the paper about twice a week but I have two. I never notice a smell. I pick up the poo everytime I see it. I have even aske people who come in from time to time if they notice a smell just to see if maybe I'm just use to it but no one has noticed anything. It is great, I'm glad I found it.
