(This message was first posted on 4.30.09) Kirby update #3
I just have to share this with you all. As I have been told in the past, Kirby has a HUGE following of people who know and care about him. I found this to be true yesterday in a very real way.
I gave Kirby his weekly bath and grooming yesterday morning. Then, later had to go pick up my 8 yr old nephew from school to take him to his Karate Class. I thought Kirby might like to go back to see all the kids at the Karate Class since he seemed to enjoy himself so much the first time he met them a few weeks ago. Since it was a real warm day, when I got to the school to pick up Steven, I carried Kirby into the school with me. When I entered the computer room, all the kids there swooned over Kirby and came over to meet him. Kirby is so calm and good with kids. He was in his glory with all the kids loving on him. Meanwhile, my nephew started closing down the computer he was working on. Shortly later, a very nice lady came to the computer room to pick up her daughter. When her daughter came over to her, the lady told her, "Look, Julie, that looks like the same dog we saw on the Internet a couple of months ago." I asked the lady what dog was that. She said he was in California and his name was Kirby. I couldn't help but to smile as I told her, "Well, say hello face to face to Kirby. This is the same dog you saw on the internet. I drove to California last month to pick him up." She couldn't believe it was the same dog. What were the chances? At first, I couldn't believe it either, but after thinking about how many people are on Kirby's very own MySpace page, I had no problem believing it. It sure is a small world where this little miracle dog is concerned.
I hope you enjoy the attached photo of Kirby that I just took yesterday. He really is such a special little dog. There is never a dull moment around here. Kirby is a constant delight. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ric Ross in beautiful and historic Summerville, SC "A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that people throw at him." |
