So true, and same goes for David Cook's "Billie Jean" was Chris Cornell's arrangement note-for-note the same except that Chris Cornell's live acoustic version is supposed to be a whole lot better than any existing rendition.

Of course, generally, they don't seem to advertise exactly which version they took. They simply announce one of the original singers or earlier arrangements and say they're singing that period. But it's not big deal. They all sound great.
