The problem is that most "genetic time bombs" poorly bred dogs carry don't have markers that show up in blood tests. My Lady is a poorly bred rescue and had both epilepsy and diabetes. Neither one can be screened for. She was perfectly healthy for the first 4 years of her life until her genetics caught up with her. |
