I just wonder these questions first because #1 if your not having them seasonally maintenanced then the coils will become corroded FAST.....#2 You have to change the filter at least every 30 days because otherwise you are blocking air flow and therefore making the machine work a lot harder. And #3 if your supply is located near the puppies it is possible for the acid to be being pulled in right on top of your coils.
I worked for the American Standard brand for about 4 years, really and truly they are the best. Consumer Reports has had it listed #1 for least amount of problems for many years.
Let me know about the questions listed above and I will see if I can be of anymore help! |
Thank you for your reply!! I change my filters every 2 weeks. These are new units so I was going to call them out for the "summer inspection" but it broke down before I called them. I am not sure what the "supply" is! The unit is on my roof and there are 2 vents into my kennel area. I dont have the dogs directly under them as I dont like cold air blowing on them all the time.
The reputable company is will to install coated coils and wave all off the instalation fees or 1200 but I still have to pay for the coated coils, about 1000.
I am sorry that I dont quite understand any of this. The Lennox that was on the kennel had absolutely no coil damage after 3 years of use, but the coils on the American Standard was totally ruined after only 6 1/2 months of use.
