I'd be on the phone and emailing EVERY single news outlet about this. It's BULL! I just replaced our TWENTY year old A/C unit a couple of years ago. An A/C should last at least 10 years, no matter the conditions, as long as you change the filter every 30 days, or more if needed.

I hope that you can get a resolution for this quickly. Get the word out! That "reputable" company is a rip-off and are counting on your silence. Go on Craigslist and make a post asking for other unsatisfied customers of that company to contact you. Don't post publicly about your specific problems YET, just gather others that are in your shoes, the more there are of you, the better. You don't want a lawsuit, so don't post publicly about what's happening, just ask for others to contact you privately.
