My aunt warned me about this before we got our puppy and told me to buy several baby blankets and when we notice them digging just through the blanket down in that area and let them go to town. they have 6 blankets in various areas of our home where we know they are prone to dig, including the couch. once they do it we give it to them and they dig on the blanket. this has been one of the greatest suggestions for me because now it doesn't drive me nuts when they do this behavior.
