You were very, very lucky that the owner was right there. I hope you reported the incident. Whether the owner left the dogs alone for a minute or an hour, they were unsupervised and unrestrained. The next victim might not be so lucky.

Thanks for posting the info about that Muzzle mace!! I had never heard of it, and recently saw a young person walking a pitty in my neighbor hood, not sure if they live around here. Even though our yard is all fenced in 6 foot fence, I still get paranoid seeing these kinds of dogs
