I know nothing about training but when my yorkie was little, the kids and I played a game. We called it mop pong (Her name is moppet so it was a take off on ping pong). We'd space ourselves around the house and take turns calling her name. When she ran to the person who called they would give her a reward, sometimes a treat, or sometimes just praise or a cuddle. Then another person would call her and she'd be off again. She seemed to enjoy the game and very quickly learned to come to her name. It also tired her out which has always been a good thing with our high energy girl. |
