I'm no expert by any means and I do free feed. However, I can certainly see your problem with free feeding!
If it were me, I'd still do the 4 feedings every day. Your puppy is still relatively young. In fact, many puppies are that age as they leave their birth home.
I have seen these bowls in some of the pet online catalogs that are especially made for gulping dogs. (I'm not sure if it would help with a puppy but it might.) They have raised areas in the bowl so that the dog has to actually work a bit to get the food. (I know I didn't describe that well. I'll see if I can find a link after I post.)
I think if you see this, you can probably rig something like it for your puppy. |
