Default Texas Breeder Legislation

For those of you in Texas, you might be interested in the new legislation in committee today. A link to House Bill 3180 is below. I suggest reading it thoroughly as to make sure you are comfortable with the standards and language. This bill will effect anyone who sells any puppy be it one or fifty. No matter your stance on this legislation; it is important that you be aware of how it will directly impact you. We would like to see "puppy mills" put out of business; but we want to insure hobby / show breeders are considered. The House held about four (4) hours of testimony on the subject ranging from small to large breeders, ASPCA, and other animal advocates.

FYI, your contracts will not supersede this bill if passed, as you will be bound by the terms of the law as written regardless of the existence of a signed contract. Again, regardless of your opinion, you need to be informed.
