Frontline is very expensive too... about $40 for 3 1 month doses! I was buying it all the time. someone here did recommend that you use 1/2 on one dog and 1/2 on the other. I am not sure if that would work when you have just 1 dog .. Im not sure if you can save the other 1/2 dose for a month or not. You could ask your vet. Frontline is topical. The dog does not eat it. It goes on their skin and gets absorbed into their body.
