I then looked it up on the internet. I am at work today and started really worrying after I received all of the post so I went home to check on him. He has not had any diarrhea since during the night. His poop has firmed back up but it is the color of the gum he ate. He was acting normal. I am still confused as what to do because now I have 2 vets telling me he will be ok. I am still a nervous wreck. The gum did contain xylitol and I'm not sure how much he ingested. Thanks to everyone for your comments and keep Harley in your prayers! |
The effects of ingesting xylitol may not be immediate. I would insist on bloodwork to check his liver function.
I can't believe two vets told you not to worry!
