Just wanted to give an update...I contacted another vet in my area and he told me that he should be fine by tomorrow...just to keep an eye on him. If he wasn't to bring him in and they would put him on antibiotics. I had no idea that the gum could be toxic to my baby until I talked to my husband on the phone this morning (he is out of town). I then looked it up on the internet. I am at work today and started really worrying after I received all of the post so I went home to check on him. He has not had any diarrhea since during the night. His poop has firmed back up but it is the color of the gum he ate. He was acting normal. I am still confused as what to do because now I have 2 vets telling me he will be ok. I am still a nervous wreck. The gum did contain xylitol and I'm not sure how much he ingested.
