I didn't read the Maltese links Briana provided but this is what worked for my Yorkie's tearing. I asked my vet for some Tylan but instead she gave me a small pill bottle of tetracycline powder and told me to mix a TINY amount with his food once a day for a week. I also started giving him distilled water exclusively (suggested by a friend who raises Maltese) for his drinking water. I'm not sure which of the two methods worked, but within a week his eyes quit tearing and we've never had a problem since. The tetracycline powder was $5, much less than a bottle of Angel Eyes. I would suggest using the distilled water for a week or two and if that doesn't help, ask your vet for some tetracycline powder and see if that will solve your problem. Good luck! |
