Out of Touch Whew, you don't realize just how much you are dependent/hooked on the computer until you don't have access to it. Between my verizon service going to pot and my computer having issues since we got it I couldn't get on the internet very well. It was taking forrreevveerr to get onto a site.
So after waiting 2 WHOLE days for verizon to come out and say that it was something at the junction box a mile away (at least there was a real issue and not just my imagination) and $140.00 later my computer is just about running great. Still got some quirks and oh yeah, don't have a couple of programs/applications that I had before. I'd gotten some graphics applications awhile ago and now I don't know where/who I'd gotten them from. So now I may have to spend more money to get them back. Ugh!
The worst of it all is that, being a conscientious person, I'd opted to do my bills online and have gone paperless on just about all of my bills, well, I didn't have any payment invoices or addresses or anything like that to pay bills! It is scary to think just how automated things are. Fortunately I have everything listed out but to have to maneuver through all the sites and using hubby's laptop when I could get it, but then you have to answer all the security questions to be able to access the site cause of a "foreign" computer. And then I couldn't get onto YT for awhile either!
Just wanted to say, be careful and back everything up cause you just don't realize how dependent you've grown on your computer til you don't have it! |
