No other vaccines should be given on the same day as rabies but I'd say a calm grooming would be just fine. The rabies vaccine can be very hard on some dogs and rarely causes death. Sometimes Benadryl is given before to counter any allergic reactions or after if something goes wrong along with a steroid or something.
