My yorkie usually ignores my cat. Only occasionally does he feel like playing. Usually, if you are rescuing, the foster parent will have an idea of how the dog interacts with cats. I would definately arrange for a pre-meeting with the dog and Qtip to see how they get on. Keep in mind, when I first brought my cat in (he was a stray) my yorkie was VERY interested in him, but as time went on, he couldn't care less and is fine with the cat. I think every dog is different. Just have to try it out before you make a commitment. Good luck!!
