I dremmel my dogs nails on the low setting. Sitting on the couch I hold them so they are sitting on my lap with their backs leaning on my chest and dremmel the nails that way. If you wet the feet a bit this will lay the hair back so you dont get anything tangled in the dremmel.

While I am training them I wait until they are pretty tired, usually after a long walk, and have my husband feed them something yummy while I am working and they forget all about what I am doing.

If you decide to use a dremmel tool or something similar make sure you do short passes over the nail and regularly alternate to prevent the nail from overheating due to the grinding. I usually start with one paw, do a quick pass over all the nails and then start back to the beginning and do another pass.

Dremmeling 2x a week keeps their nails from growing long enough to click on the hardwood floor.

Best of luck!
