Default Frightened of car

Hello YT mommies,
My little Angus is frightened of the movement of the car. My boss has generously let me bring my baby to work and keep him in the office until I have papertrained him, then he will stay home with another puppy 5 weeks older than he is.
So every morning I load him into the car. He seems excited to go, when he sees me getting ready to leave he jumps across my purse or shoes (whichever is on the floor) and lays on it so I can't leave without him...so cute. But as soon as I start to back out of the parking space he shakes and whimpers and sometimes makes a tiny howling sound...all the way to work. He stops whimpering at stop lights so that is why I think it is the motion that is frightening him. I have tried putting him in a crate, on my lap, in a car seat, in a dog bed on the passenger side seat and on the floor..but he still so frightened that I am afraid that he will develop a permanent fear of the car. If you have any suggestions I would really, really apreciate your help.
