I am so glad that you were at home! This could have been a major tragedy
I do not use a collar on my Suzi either. I never have . Yorkies have extrmemly sensitive throats, and to me it is not worth the risk> When I take her outside to play I have Suzi always on a harness. When we are inside she is free. Even a cat collar , I have heard is dangerous to a small dog. I lean towards the safer side of things.
