This was our first show since the 80's. I was so excited when we did win. What a way to return to the show ring, but I learned a lot last time and had some great teachers. I was only in my 20's when I last showed and made a lot of mistakes - I had to learn the hard way. Like - showing a 4 pound female. The judges thought she was cute and she showed well, but they said the points would just be wasted on her. And I showed a black (straight)&
thumbprint. He had a great pedigree and a solid dead level topline, but wrong coat. He was sold to be at 6 months for show quality. But I continued to study the lines and looked at thousands of yorkie - at shows/matches/pictures everywhere and listened to the pros that told me a lot. I remembered all those things and finally had some breed by winners. I even hired a handler to do my showing, since I couldn't travel to the shows all the time. That was back in the 80's. I learned and now I am older and want to do it right with out all the mistakes I made back in the 80's when I first started. It is just so hard to get to know others with yorkies and that show, except here in YT. It is so hard to wait for a show and since I am new again - nobody knows who I am so why talk to me.
Thanks for all the compliments. I really appreciate it. It took me a year of looking and research before I bought my new babies to start my new line.
