named Abigail who we are just in love with. We are currently waiting for her to go into heat so we can have her breeded.

Can anyone tell me, how many times a year a yorkie would normally go into heat. Not sure if its just once or more.

Also are there any other signs except for the normal bleeding and swelling
Hello and welcome to YT. Abigail is very pretty and loving yorkies the way I do, I can understand your desire in wanting to breed. If she is 18 months old I would say it is safe to assume she's already had at least one heat cycle?
It sounds to me that you have some homework to do before breeding her. Visit this website Dog Breeding and Canine Reproduction by Debbie Jensen. Dog Breeding and Whelping guide for dog breeders. for a multitude of great information on breeding, from heat cycles, mating, whelping, and weaning pups, as well as many things that may happen in between. I suggest you learn all of this and more before breeding Abigail for the safety of her and her litter. Good luck to you whatever you decide.
