We're suposed to be metric here in Canada, but most people over age 20 still talk in cups.

1 cup of food is the same as 250 ml (dry measure). So 1/4 cup is roughly 63 ml. The weight likely varies by the type of food. This is why its a good idea to look at the suggested serving size on the bag; although I do notice they suggest generous servings. A package of dog discuits I bought suggested 40 cookies a day for a big dog, 20 for a small!
