Last summer I had to leave Piper with my DH for a week. She was only 15 weeks at the time and she pottied outside. If you took her out about every 90 min you hardly ever had mistakes. She was contained in the kitchen and in an x-pen at night. My DH is retired so he was home all day yet it was very difficult for him to remember to take her outside so frequently. So she had accidents in the kitchen. She also had an x-pen outside and I would stand there and watch her till she pottied and then praise her and bring her in. My DH found that it was easier for him just to put her in the pen then putt putt outside in the yard and bring her back in. He never really watched her to see if she pottied so again there was quite a few accidents in the kitchen. I only had one day till I was going home and DH called my screaming who is our vet? Which he should have just looked at writtened down instructions of Piper's care where the vet's phone number was clearly written. On an August afternoon he puts Piper in her outside pen and putts, putts in the yard and goes back in. HE FORGOT PIPER. A whole hour outside in the sun, no water. He almost killed my baby. She was listless. Luckily he had enough sence to put her in cool water and I told him to give her the nutrical and he rushed her to the vets. Time he got there she was fine. Once I got home her training was back on scheduled with no problem.
