Susan, there goes to show you what you find in a pet store is so far from
what the breed represents. This breed is no more aggressive or no more
like a yorkie than a car is like a rabbit
The Cavalier King Charles is a mild
sensitive little spaniel that is the most beautiful companion on earth. It
lives to please it's master and I think with yorkies we live to please them.
The English know a great deal about them and have some beautiful dogs. I owned a male once and it was a doll, in fact

to obedience the trainer said the Cavalier should be gently trained and he
was so right and then they learn quickly. YorkieRose is right in that they
are prone to heart disease. The club had been doing a great job of
testing and screening and then as much as they fought it the akc took
over and every tom, dick and harry started breeding them to make a $
and I'm afraid it has hurt the breed. There are good breeders out there
and be sure to see in writing the fact that the sire and dam were tested.
And to the person that started this thread; I can lead you to some good
breeders when the time comes if you like.
