weaning I am not too concerned either..forgive me, but some pups fight weaning. If they are tiny mice, then I would be on my toes.
They need to get really hungry and they will eat anything in the dish. Try not to change foods, pups eat when they are hungry..they eat paper and poop, so believe me they are not gourmets.
Does mom allow any nursing at all? Even when the milk is drying up there can be enough to get by on for a pup or two who fight weaning.
I give mine goats milk, egg yolk and honey..never had a pup not lap it when they haven't eaten in 4 or 5 hours..and I have never had a healthy, normal size pup suffer any ill effects by going 6 hrs or longer without food..even if they refuse food, most will lap the Goats milk..give them some Nutra Cal. Be careful with the canned, they are going to start with loose stools and that will make them ill.
They do not have to eat any wetted dry or canned right now..goats milk is wonderful and they will thrive. Good luck |
