I wasn't clear in my post, I apologize. What I meant was how much hair and in what shape do you trim the top of the ear for the "proper" look. I always do my own grooming and what I normally do is trim the entire ear around the outer edges. I thought the next time I would just do the tops of their ears and see how I like that look.
I know what you mean when you say "use EXTREME caution"- it is a nerve raking experience until I put those scissors down!! I always make sure I have MY fingers between the ear leather and the scissors. I would rather take the nip myself than do it to one of my babies!
