Do you mean he gave a steroid shot? That will suppress symptoms of allergy, however, if she has a staph intermedius infection - it will NOT treat that, and in fact could make it much worse. She needs something like Simplicef to treat the staph or it will not go away.

If you continue to struggle w/ this, I honestly would say to go to a Dermatologist - it's what I had to do to get things properly diagnosed. Skin issues are complicated and confusing - so sometimes you do need an expert, rather than a generalist.
