What a scary story! So glad everyone is ok.
I would definitely recommend calling someone to get rid of that raccoon. We had an incidence about a week after getting Ollie, where I turned around in the yard and saw what looked like a huge cat on the roof of our house.. on a closer look, realized it was a coon, and it looked pregnant. It just sat there, not moving. We called someone and he came out immediately and was able to trap the raccoon, thank goodness. I refused to let oliver outside until that thing was gone, and I'm constantly scanning the yard now. They are dangerous creatures.
