I have had pet insurance for over 2 yrs now. You have to really look to see what it covers. I have VPI. The plan I had did not cover their spays or teeth cleaning. Actually it did when I first got it but then the plan changed and no longer covered it. It didn't cover very much anyway. I haven't sent in a claim for a year. I called them the other day and asked if I could still send in everything from last year. They said yes. Pet insurance isn't like people insurance. Make sure you look at the plans really well. If your animal has a pre-existing condition pet insurance will not cover that. I got mine when the girls were puppies. I think I pay about 70.00 a month for both of them.
