Default Vet visit today

So, Rico went to the vet today in regards to his throwing up/cough. The vet seems to think it is caused by some environmental allergy. She said a food allergy is unlikely, since he vomits hours after eating. She thinks that pollen is irritating him, causing mucus to drip (gross, I know), which is irritating his throat. The irritation causes the vomiting; the vomiting causes more irritation.
His heart and lungs sounded good! So, they gave him a shot of a steroid today. He'll be on antihistamine pills for several days. I go back in a week to check and see how he's feelng. I HOPE that this is being caused by allergies and not something more serious. Except, if it is environmental allergies, there's not much I can do to help him.
Either way, once he's off of the meds, I think I'll change his food from Bil-Jac to something else (I'm thinking Wellness Small Breed...?). The amount of corn in Bil-Jac and by-products worries me. Thanks for your advice everyone!
