I agree with this poster. When my Sassy had puppies, we kept her and the pups in the living room in a pen. I put an old plastic tablecloth under the pen to protect my carpeting. The puppies were kept in a box and puppy pads were put down for mom along with her food and water. Worked great and my carpet was spared
