Chipper had bad skin problems that started when he was about 8 years old. I noticed that he would get little bumps that would blister (like chicken pox) and then break and become a sore. He also all of a sudden had allergies to everything. He was put on predisone and antibiotics for the sores. He would get better and always a couple weeks later it would start again. He was on predisone all the time and the weight gain was unreal. He went from 8lbs to 14 lbs in 18 months. When he was 13 he had surgery for bladder stones and the vet noticed that there was an unusual thickening of the bladder wall. He did a biopsy and found Chipper had bladder cancer. He was gone within 6 weeks. I often wonder if the predisone didn't cause all his problems. He never had loss of hair through the years.
