First off - Welcome to YT!
Did you ask your vet about the herbal joint meds/restrict activity therapy? I've no knowledge of this subject other than being aware other yorkies have had to have surgery for this. Either way (meds or surgery) Dickens will have to be confined to restrict his activity for several weeks.
