I know it's sounds harsh, but if you don't have the money for a check up, you shouldn't be thinking of buying a pup at this time. What if it has an accident? What if it would break its leg, for example, what would you do? So many people have dogs put to sleep because they can't afford to treat them, please reconsider getting a dog at this time, and save up, until you can afford to buy from a reputable breeder, and have enough money for proper vet care. The first year of owning dog is particularly expensive. Another option is a rescue, but even with them you will have expenses of vet care, and emergency visits can be really expensive, but it's not right for a dog to be an agony all weekend waiting for the regular vet office to open.
