I feed Nature's Variety raw medallions for breakfast and free feed NV's Instinct kibble during the day. I think if you were only going to feed it a few times a week, you can just start feeding it with no introduction period. I would introduce it slowly if you intend for it to become a regular part of the diet.
I rotate between the proteins Instinct has about every 4 to 6 weeks. I introduce the new kibble slowly and mix it in with the one they've been eating to avoid upset tummies. I may not need to do this since they're the same brand but I'd rather not take a chance.
It's perfectly fine to rotate between foods of the same brand. The purpose is to rotate protein sources to offer a variety in the diet and to help prevent possible food allergies from developing.
Good luck!
