I paid $450 each to have my puppies neutered and to have all of their shots. That didn't include what I paid for the puppies themselves, so $550 doesn't seem unreasonable to me for a 5 month old puppy that has already been spayed and had all of her shots. If you were to purchase a puppy from a breeder and have that work done you would pay more than double that amount. I understand they are an expensive investment.
