I had a similar experience with ones that I got from a YT seller. They were just cheap, thin hospital pads. Luckily, they were a sample so I didn't lose any money.

ETA: I like the 30 pack of Out brand pads from Walmart ($7) and the 50 pack of Hartz brand pads from Kmart ($10).
