The dogs played...we ate, the speaker spoke for at least an hour, the doorprizes were handed out....that's about it. The speaker wasn't actually necessary...the fun was in visiting friends and having the dogs play.
No, it doesn't have to be some rented facility...she had held one before...made loads of plans and it rained....so the next time she eliminated that possibility.
I know people who've gone to meet ups at parks too.
