He gets a shot of Benedryl before his vaccine. Having Rabies would be worse. The medication I used to rid myself of scabies that I got from my dog had a pesticidal chemical in it. I prefer natural and organic when it's available. My dogs and cats get affected from their vaccines and the Revolution, but I watch them closely on those days and have my vet and the Animal ER phone numbers ready. Revolution does not do internal parasites in dogs (hookworm, roundworm). To compensate I switch to Heartgard every 3 months or so for the dogs.
My last rescued dog, Tinkerbell, does have a liver shunt. I called my vet to verify that Revolution is save for her. It is. She is also on medications that contain Milk Thistle which helps remove toxins from the liver. |
I would never put Revolution on a Liver Shunt baby

From the research I have done, Intercepter is the safest for LS dogs and it is recommend to NOT use a flea/tick med.
My Roxy has MVD. She gets Intercepter May thru October. I do not apply any chemicals to her skin for flea or ticks. She no longer gets vaccines, instead we do titer tests. Rabies is the only one she will get and its a 3 year shot and I am only doing it bc it is the law. She is also on daily supplements to aid her liver.
If I were you, I do a little research on Revolution, it is really tough on LS babies
