After two weeks i took both puppies to a vet for a check up and he said that puppies are ok. But my female puppy was still coughing. I took her again to a vet and he gave her antibiotics, but cough still there. Then he did an x-ray and did not find anything. I even took her to another vet and he said that lungs are clear and gave another medication, but she still coughing. The cough comes from the throat, not from inside of lungs , she is kind of gag it and acting like she wants to throw up. We contacted the breeder and she send us all kinds of medication, but nothing is helping. I dont know what to do anymore. I dont trust that breeder anymore for a few reasons. After i received AKC papers, the names of puppes wrong, our breeder's name not there and birthdays of both puppies are wrong. Can you please tell me what to do, my heart is breaking when i hear the puppies cought and advise me how to check the records of mother and father and how to change the records at AKC.
Thank you very much, Lucy
Yikes!!! Well as for the cough. It is probably from something scratching the throat. My older boy has had that happen. And with continued coughing it will not get any better. Ask your vet for a cough suppressant. If they both have it. then I dunno. If it is a "honking" sound kind of like a goose, I've been told in little ones that's normal b/c of their small airways. But I wouldn't consider myself an expert. Good luck with teh AKC thing.
