I too felt so bad when Sweet Pea had her 2nd series of vaccines, within the hour she was yelping in pain, so the vet had me give her 1ml of Benadryl 3 times per day. By the 2nd day she was feeling much better.

Just yesterday she had her Rabies vaccines, i gave her 1ml of Benadryl 2hrs before the shot and 2 more doses yesterday so far today she is not yelping in pain.

I did feel so bad (yep i cried while she was getting the vaccines) i was dreading the Rabies vaccine, but so far so good.
