Im still using XP, which has Windows Movie Maker. I have never got the program to work right though. Maybe see if you have it on Vista. Just hit Start, All Programs and see if its listed.
Have you tried to see if your camcorder came with any video editing software?
I haven't really heard of any other free programs though, but most likely you will have to buy something to get anything half decent.
