My 2 1/2 yr old almost 5 lb. yorkie Tia and I visited my mother and totally unexpected and within 5 min. after arriving she and Tanner who is 1 yr. and 10 lbs. were together. I called the vet thinking that surely she would need to stop the pregnancy, but was told that though I have heard all sorts of horror stories that this probably wouldn't be a problem and most turned out just fine and to wait and they would do an xray later, etc... Then I got really excited! Now she is about 6 1/2 weeks along, and in the last week is getting big! But the more I read and research the more and more afraid I am getting!!! I suppose there is nothing more to do now than wait and see and prepare for anything, but still if anything happened to her it would be horrible! I have been told that the mother determines the size not the male? Just hoping for some input on my fears and any advice anyone thinks might be helpful.
