I use coconut oil and yes it looks just as you've described. Primarily I'm giving it to my yorkies in their food, for the many health benefits. But, I've used it on Reno's coat before, to see if it would work as a good conditioner. I used a very small amount, rubbed it between my hands before working it over his entire coat. Although it did make him a little greasy looking, it was no worse than other oils, conditioners, etc. that I've left in his hair. Also, it washed right out a couple of days later with his next bath.
