Sometimes dogs can't tell the difference between the pads and the rugs. That's assuming your boy is fully trained otherwise, and not just doing some extra curricular peeing.

I use Nature's Miracle pads because they are supposed to smell different. I actually can't smell a difference, but I think Thor does... he sure sniffs them a lot anyway. Once I ran out and put a newpaper down for him to go on, and he wouldn't go. I kept giving him the Potty command, and he kept sniffing, but he knew something was different, and for once, he didn't feel adventurous.

The one thing with using Nature's Miracle pads is that now I have to always make sure I'm stocked. I had a close call the other day, I had to leave a pad down for an extra long time, waiting for Amazon to deliver my next bag.
