We got Cricket when she was 8 weeks old. We started training her to go potty outside right away. Our vet said to let her out every 20 minutes to go and if in the kennel, every 4 hours. She didn't really mind her kennel. One good night of crying was about it. By the way I am a stay at home mom with no kids at home during the day. When we took her outside millions of times, we said Go Potty!, and when she did, we praised her. She loved it. When Cricket was 11 weeks, she was 99% trained. She would even go to the door and scratch. We thought this was amazing!! I had called the breeder to let him know. I asked if they still had her brother, and of course they said yes. We wanted both the first night. Well... we went and picked him up. Bubba was not potty trained for outside. He even peed his kennel for the first week. After constant letting them out, he caught on and was praised and he loved it too. He stopped wetting his kennel and has now caught up with sis. He barked and scratched at the door yesterday and ran out and did a poop! I was so proud of him. They are 2 totally different dogs, with different personalities. I think persistance works
