30 days seems like an eternity, but there are many places much worse (I think Hawaii is 6 months???). It will be hard for both of you ... whereas you can visit him as much as you want, you won't have much extra time if you're trying to get settled into a new country, a new house, a new job ...
I would take him favorite toys and treats. And always, take a piece of clothing that smells like you (a rather unique way to treat your dirty laundry!). At least that way he will have something that smells like you - change it every time you visit so the smell stays fresh.
I don't envy you. I've never had to deal with quarantine longer than 3 days before. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some better ideas.
